Poliamid

A polyamide is a macromolecule with repeating units linked by amide bonds. Polyamides occur both naturally and artificially. Examples of naturally occurring polyamides are proteins, such as wool and silk.


Amide groups have the general chemical formula CO-NH. The name nylons refers to the group of plastics known as polyamides.

The most famous form of polyamide fabric is nylon, but there are quite a few different varieties of this textile. Glavne karakteristike su visoka otpornost na goriva, ulja, masti, većinu organskih kiselina i lužina. Aliphatic polyamides such as Nylon and Nylon are widely used for engineering and industrial applications. The unreinforced grades have an upper temperature for continuous use of around 3- 3K, and the glass and mineral reinforced grades of about 3- 3K.

Applications include almost every industry and market. Both synthetic fibres are very tear-proof and abrasion-resistant and absorb little moisture (thus good transport of moisture away from the body) and are stretchy, crease-free, but also prone to pilling. Polyester has excellent return conduct. Because of how polyamide fabrics behave in regards to moisture and abrasions, nylon has considerable resistance against both. It absorbs very little moisture overall and it is also quite durable to abrasions and damage from oils and several other chemicals.


Aromatic polyamide fiber are highly crystalline fibers in which at least of the amide linkages (−CO–NH−) are attached directly to two aromatic rings, and have the lowest density and the highest tensile strength-to-weight ratio among the current high performance fibers. No matter how complex your designs, polyamide is a great and versatile choice. The self-supporting powder needs no support structure and works equally well for fully functional prototypes or end-use parts.
